Mike Tyson tells it all in his one-man theatre production show

He is a father who breeds and raises pigeons; he is a fallen hero; he has a wild side; he served time in jail; his struggle with drug addiction and finally beating his addiction. He was also starred in the movie 'The Hangover' and 'The Hangover Part II', playing the part of the ever controversial Mike Tyson.

Now his debut for his one man show "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth" in Las Vegas was last week Saturday, 14 April at the Hollywood Theatre, many wanted to see this as a "rise from the ashes" type of episode, while some were interested in seeing him reveal more of his dark side that has been controlling him for such a long time.

The show has been reviewed as a work in progress. The fact that he took a chance and was willing to stand and face an audience on his own just shows the amount of calibre he has. A critic said: "I would have liked to have seen a script in which Tyson knocks out his personal demons with the same voracity as he once punched opponents in the ring, instead of playing the role of a pathetic figure who bad-mouths women and blames the refs and just about anyone for what he has lost.

Another critic said: "And then there's the elephant in the room. Tyson's voice, a cheap laugh for any comedy impression, it sometimes gets in the way of a strong moment here, when the champ bites into poetic phrases such as "my dark dreams and shadows," or calling his beloved trainer Cus D'Amato "a master of psychological warfare, a grand manipulator. He is more comfortable saying "I wouldn't wash my ass for days." or "I would hunger for glory like a mad dog."

a tournament ended.
Now with hardcore critics like these, does it mean that Mike bit off more than he can chew? These were really tough critics for a first show. Will he be able to stand the critics like a man and continue with the show or will he just give up??? We'll just have to wait and see.

  1. Ive known Mike Tyson as the boxer and the women abuser. I hope his theatre production will ease my heart about him

    1. The production is a tell-all about all those bad things he did and not about him getting back up. He has a really bad reputation, (including him biting his opponents ear during a fight, I mean what brought on such fowl behaviour?)

  2. i think it is good that he is getting criticsm and that should motivate him to better in his next roles

  3. I believe that in life nothing comes easily. if people criticise you, you should not give up but learn from what ever criticism and do better next time.

  4. In the real world criticism is good for you whether goog or bad because you either learn from it or you quit while you still at it.So now it is up to him to either take it positively or negatively it will build the brand 'MIKE TYSON'

    1. With his reputation, he is now known for being and responding aggressively to situations. So yes, it is up to him whether he deals with the criticism in a positive or negative manner.

  5. I think that as a public figure is good for him to show that he has learned from his mistakes and he willing to adarp a new live. this will also educate people how to handle such situations once you face them in live.

    1. But then the production is about what he has done in life (being aggressive, rude, blaming everyone for his losses, and the list goes on.) I personnally think that it would've been better if it had focused more on his new and improved life.

    1. Well, we all hope he does that I mean if he doesn't then it'll be his own reputation he'll be ruining further.

  8. Mike Tyson's reputation is ruined , he has to try harder to fix it, it may not be instantly as "Rome was not built in one day" but by improving his behaviour throgh going for counselling and so on.

    1. Apparently he is going for counselling and is trying to turn a new leaf, hence the pigeon racing...

  9. We shouldn't always take critism as negative when you are critised that means they so the best in you and they just can't stand it. Mike tyson's should stick to his game and ignore everything said because tomorrow it will be old news.

    1. Yeah true but he has a bad temper and he could just ruin everything and go back to step 1 so its best for him to just take it positively.

  11. Why is it that people will always have a negative thing to say even when there is no need?. Yes we should not always take criticism negatively but in this case it is mostly negative than positive.

  12. Yes it is, hence I mentioned that it was harsh as it was his first ever show.

  13. Corrcet me if im wrong, but some how i feel that Mike Tysons bad behaviour is complementary to his career. I mean if you spent your life fighting for survival, its possible that you might adopt behaviours reflecting on, competition, conflict and anger, but then again, Mike should draw a fine line between a game and reality.

    1. What you're saying is true indeed and he should've drawn the line a long time ago.

  14. I think that Tyson will be able to stand the critics like a man and continue with the show,Amean as it is said above that he had saved in jail, that shows that he is brave enough to face the critics.

  15. I think it is time to throw in the towel here. He has played his role now he can venture into other fields, like community engagement, where he teaches boys not to fall into the trap of bad publicity, drugs and abuse.

    1. Yes, his show could've been more on the brighter side rather than the show being about how he lived his life.

  16. i think criticism helps a person in knowing what they really need to change or do that is not right

    1. Criticism definitely does help as long as you take it with the right frame of mind and learning to respond rather than reacting.

  17. As a public figure its good for him to show that he has learned from his mistakes and he is willing to change. This will also help lots of people on how to handle such situations once you face them in live.

  18. Well yes, he hasn't been in the news for any bad publicity which is good for him.
