Lack of communication and research equals to a total disaster!

A musical written and directed by Sello Maake Ka-Ncube about the late Lebo Mathosa Drama Queen was expected to blow people away but in actual fact it was rather disappointing for those who attended. Many celebrities dressed to kill to attend the show’s gala opening at Pretoria’s State Theatre this past Tuesday night.
Khanyi Mbau and Sindi Nene were among the five lovely ladies who were on stage, but then tough critics said that while Khanyi was a great dancer, she couldn’t sing and Sindi sang beautifully but couldn’t dance. Boom Shaka member Thembi Seete said “I was so excited about the show, but it lacked a lot of truth and emotion and there seemed to be no research done about what really happened. The five girls are talented and beautiful, if they had come to us, we would have helped.”

One of Lebo’s closest friends said: “The producers could have researched more. The people who lived with Lebo are still alive, her spirit and soul was not on stage!” 3Sum member and socialite Amstel said: “I’m not happy at all about the show. Not that I wanted to be a part of it, but she was my friend and we could have told the story better. Not just anyone can play Lebo. The costumes were ridiculous, nothing like Lebo. All I saw was blonde weaves, I am not convinced at all!”When called for comment, Sello said: “I know where my shortfalls were and I am open to the Boom Shaka members Theo, Thembi and Junior helping out, but the only person I had contact with was Thembi. “People must just understand that it is just a start.”
It looks like Sello Maake Ka-Ncube did not communicate and research as much as he was supposed to with people who knew Lebo well and as a result a disastrous show.

    He of all people should have known that Communication is key. Such a big event could have not been a disaster if he contacted the right people. I am so disappointed in Sello.

    This is very suprising and dissapointing especially that a well known and talented person like Sello is involved. he has been in the industry for too long now and i expected him to know better.

    it is very unfortunate that things had to floop for such a good idea but all in all research is key and communication is just a cherry on top.

    Disaster indeed,communication and research would have helped alot in producing the quality of the event and the real life of the late Lebo.

      he most probably believed that some of Lebo's friends would want to be part of the production if he did contact them.. or maybe he thought his potrayal of lebo would be better than the real lebo was

    research is so important ,he should have asked for help if he felt that he could not not do this on his own,especially from people who were close to lebo.

      That's just the thing, he thought that he had it all under cover (even though he didn't involve those who knew Lebo Mathosa in and out).

    We should just leave the good things to those who know best and the originals. There is no one like Lebo just like there is no you and me, Just as there is no one who can sing like Micheal Jackson. Lets just stop trying to bring these people to life and just remember them in memory

      All Sello was trying to do was create a production that he thought was gonna bring the spirit of Lebo back to stage but he just went wrong about it, which is why now he's sitting on top o a disaster.

    It is so sad and disappointing that a man of his strature would have such a brilliant idea which turned out bad all because he knows very little about "communication".

    Wow! This is so disappointing hence, it is a South African production and was expected to be a bang because it is about a legendary woman in music. Sello could have done research and not rush to broadcast.

    Communication is an essential aspect of success and using various individuals such as Lebos friend to achieve optimum results of a great show is essential. As a supporter of Lebo Mathosa I am disapointed as well.The use of artists who are not multitalented is rather disappointing.
